Wiki-Leaks: Friend or Foe of Freedom, Part II

Last week, New Threats contributor James Kirchick had an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal wherein he took a critical look at the potential fallout from the recent WikiLeaks revelations. You need to log in as a subscriber to view the full article, but the basic gist is that some of the recently released WikiLeaks documents imply collaboration between Morgan Tsvangirai, the leader of Zimbabwe's opposition movement, and diplomats from the U.S. and E.U.--specifically the foreign nations that have imposed harsh sanctions in response to the dictatorial policies of Robert Mugabe's long-standing regime. The consequences?

As a result of the WikiLeaks revelations, Mr. Mugabe's handpicked Attorney General, Johannes Tomana, this week formed a commission to determine whether Mr. Tsvangirai committed treason by working with foreign governments to impose and sustain sanctions. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty.

If it plays out at Kirchick suggests, might WikiLeaks itself be facing their own charges of "Collateral Murder?"
