Max Borders
Max Borders is a writer living in the Research Triangle area, North Carolina, with his wife and three-year-old son. Formerly managing editor of Tech Central Station, Max continues to write nonfiction and opinion journalism. Max earns part of his living developing films as an executive at Free To Choose Network, an organization committed to building popular support for personal, political, and economic freedom. Before that he was a policy analyst and new media director for a North Carolina think tank. In 2008, the Charles G. Koch Foundation selected Max to join a group of rising classical liberal intellectuals to the Koch Associates Program—a continuing education program in organization theory, free-market economics, and nonprofit management. He is now a mentor for the program. In past lives, Max has worked as program director for a DC-area research and education institute, taught philosophy to undergrads, and written about technology for a Big Five consulting firm. He has an MA in philosophy from University College London and a BA from Appalachian State University. Currently, Max is working on an online marketplace for social change projects. His myriad experiences in higher education, public policy, and private enterprise keep him fascinated by the intersection of theory and practice.
