Lee Siegel

Lee Siegel has written about culture and politics for numerous publications, including Harper’s, the Atlantic Monthly, the New Yorker, New York, Time, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. He has been the television critic for the New Republic, where he was also a senior editor; art critic for Slate; and book critic for the Nation. He is the author of three books: Falling Upwards: Essays in Defense of the Imagination; Not Remotely Controlled: Notes on Television; and, most recently, Against the Machine: How the Web Is Reshaping Commerce and Culture—and Why It Matters. In 2002, he received the National Magazine Award for Reviews and Criticism.
